TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT
Technique that transfers to the game.
Technical development is not about collecting skills or repeating isolated drills. It is about becoming more effective at executing the actions your position and the game demand.
Castek Technical Development provides 1-to-1 and small-group coaching built around the individual player. Training starts by understanding the player's current level, position, strengths and development priorities before determining what needs to be improved.
Sessions develop the technical details behind actions such as receiving, passing, running with the ball, dribbling, turning, finishing, crossing and 1v1 situations, while progressively introducing the pressure, scanning and decision-making to simulate what happens in real matches.
The objective is not simply to perform a technique correctly in training. It is to be able to recognise the right moment, select the appropriate action and execute it effectively in the game.
Built around your position
Different positions require different technical solutions.
A centre-back receiving under pressure has different requirements from a winger receiving between a full-back and the touchline. A midfielder's first touch, body orientation and scanning behaviours are developed for different situations than those of a striker preparing to finish.
For this reason, Castek does not use the same technical programme for every player.
Training is shaped around the positions, game situations and actions that matter most to the individual.
Individual detail. Game context.
Technical development can include:
First touch and receiving
Passing and combination play
Running with the ball and dribbling
Turning and escaping pressure
1v1 attacking and defending
Finishing and final-third actions
Crossing and delivery
Body orientation and movement before receiving
Weak-foot development
Position-specific technical actions
As the player progresses, exercises become increasingly representative of the game through changes in space, pressure, direction, opponents and decision-making.
1-to-1 Development
The most individualised form of Castek technical coaching.
1-to-1 sessions allow detailed attention to the player's specific technical needs, with a high volume of relevant repetitions and immediate individual feedback.
Training can be connected directly to findings from the player's Castek Player Assessment and Individual Development Plan, creating a clear link between what happens in matches and what is developed on the training pitch.
Small-Group Development
Small groups introduce something individual training cannot fully reproduce: other players.
Teammates and opponents create pressure, timing, interaction and decision-making. This allows technical actions to be trained within more realistic football situations while maintaining a high level of individual coaching.
Groups are deliberately kept small and organised around compatible ages, levels and development needs.
Understand the action. Develop the detail. Apply it to the game.
Castek Technical Development connects individual technical improvement with the situations where those skills actually matter.
Understand your game. Develop what matters.
